Sometimes, I have to sit for hours taking in the vista before actually beginning to load my palette and begin painting. I must be in tune with the scene to express it. If the weather changes, then I put a new canvas on my easel and do another painting. The character of the place has changed so the tones, colors, and strokes have to change to express the new effect.
